Here are some of the challenges and mental health conditions I'm specializing on:

Psychological trauma

Psychological trauma is an emotional response to a stressful event that overwhelms an individual’s ability to cope. Trauma is not limited to extreme or life-threatening situations; it can result from any event that overwhelms an individual’s ability to overcome adversity. Loss of a loved one, giving birth, surgery, or other significant life changes can all be experienced as traumatic, leading to distress, emotional pain, and lasting psychological effects.  Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a specific type of psychological trauma, characterized by intrusive memories or flashbacks of the traumatic event, avoidance of reminders of the trauma, heightened arousal negative changes in mood or cognition.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (prolonged exposure technique) and hypnotherapy are powerful tools for addressing trauma and PTSD.  Exposure therapy helps individuals gradually confront trauma-related triggers in a safe environment, leading to desensitization and symptom reduction. Hypnotherapy utilizes hypnosis to access the subconscious mind and reframe traumatic memories and emotions, promoting healing and resilience.

Chronic Pain

Chronic pain is a persistent pain that lasts weeks, months, or even years, affecting an individual’s physical and emotional well-being. Sometimes, chronic pain persists long after the initial cause has been treated. Common sources of chronic pain include (but are not restricted to) conditions such as fibromyalgia, migraines, back pain, and gut problems.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) and hypnotherapy are highly effective approaches for managing chronic pain. Pain Reprocessing Therapy involves re-training the brain to interpret chronic pain signals differently, reducing the perception of pain and enhancing quality of life. Through cognitive and emotional techniques, individuals learn to break the cycle of pain amplification. Hypnotherapy, on the other hand, uses guided relaxation and focused attention to alter pain perception and reduce pain intensity. By accessing the subconscious mind, hypnotherapy can also address underlying emotional factors contributing to chronic pain, promoting overall health and well-being.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other gut health problems

IBS is a chronic gastrointestinal disorder characterized by abdominal pain, bloating, and changes in bowel habits, such as diarrhea or constipation. It’s a complex condition, often influenced by a combination of factors, including diet, gut microbiota, stress, and psychological well-being. Hypnotherapy has been recognized as one of the most effective treatment options for managing irritable bowel syndrome. Numerous studies have shown that it can lead to significant improvements in IBS symptoms, including abdominal pain, bloating, and bowel habits. It is considered particularly beneficial for individuals with IBS who have not responded well to conventional treatments or who experience significant psychological distress related to their symptoms.

Depression

Depression is a mood condition, characterized by prolonged feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and lack of interest in previously enjoyed activities. Depression is often rooted in interactions between biological, psychological, and environmental factors. In therapy sessions, clients have the opportunity to get empathetic support, explore the causes of their depression and get practical tools to cope with it.  Hypnosis is an additional tool to traditional therapy. It helps change subconscious patterns, contributing to negative emotions, and fosters positive change.

Obsessive compulsive disorder

OCD is a mental health condition characterized by intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions) that individuals feel driven to perform as a reaction to obsessions.

OCD is often marked by intense anxiety and distress. It can be overwhelming, consuming significant time and energy and interfering with daily functioning and relationships.

In therapy sessions, clients learn to expose themselves gradually to anxiety-provoking situations while learning to tolerate discomfort and resist engaging in compulsive rituals (Exposure and Response Prevention technique). Therapists provide support, encouragement, and expertise to help clients regain control over their lives and well-being. Hypnosis can significantly facilitate therapeutic changes by accessing the subconscious mind and involving subconscious processes.

Another anxiety disorders

Anxiety disorders include a diverse range of conditions characterized by excessive worry and can significantly impair of everyday life. They are complex conditions, often developed due to a combination of genetic, biological, psychological, and environmental factors.

Here are most common Anxiety disorders:

– Generalized Anxiety Disorder

– Panic Disorder

Psychotherapy equips individuals with tools and strategies to effectively manage anxiety symptoms, while also providing support and a deeper understanding of the underlying causes of anxiety.
